Vienna kick-off meeting (March 31st – April 1st)

The VαMPiRE project held a successful kick-off meeting from March 31st to April 1st in Vienna. This event brought together the researchers and clinical partners to establish a shared vision, discuss project milestones, and align on strategic objectives.

A Visionary Start

The first day began with a presentation by our HaDEA’s EC Project Coordinator, Monica Ensini, who outlined the framework, expectations, and regulatory landscape guiding the initiative. Then our scientific director Marco Feligioni provided an introduction to the project general scope. This was followed by a comprehensive review of the status of clinical activities within the project, providing an opportunity for each clinical partner to introduce their role, team and contributions.

The day concluded with a consortium dinner, fostering networking opportunities and strengthening collaborative relationships among participants.

Driving Innovation and Implementation

The second day focused on the project’s analytical activities and managerial progress. The session commenced with an introduction to the role of artificial intelligence within the project, accompanied by a presentation from the team responsible for these efforts. Then, key discussion centred on the development of the In-Vitro Diagnostic tool with updates on its current status and the next steps. Additionally, the session provided an overview of general management activities, emphasising the importance of efficient coordination, communication and governance. This segment also addressed the project’s communication and dissemination actions as well as an introduction to the project’s exploitation roadmap. Finally, the meeting included a review of analytical laboratory activities, with participating laboratories presenting their team, methodologies and contributions to the project’s research.

These discussions provided a comprehensive assessment of the project’s current status and outlined the key actions required to drive progress in the coming months.

A Strong Foundation for Future Success

The kick-off meeting served as a crucial platform for establishing a strong foundation for the VαMPiRE Project. The dedication and expertise demonstrated by all participants underscored the consortium’s commitment to advancing the project’s objectives. With clearly defined milestones and a robust collaborative framework in place, the consortium is well-positioned to achieve significant advancements in the near future.
